At the recent 2011 World Championship of American Football in Austria, two of the Buccaneers’ senior playing squad represented their country with pride – and great success!

Linebackers James McFadzean and Layke Rossiello competed in all three matches for the green and gold  against the USA (eventual winners), Mexico, Germany and in the final for 5th place against host nation Austria.

Both players were outstanding with many tackles and assists, whilst James was awarded the Australian MVP for the Mexico game on the back of 3 solo tackles, 4 assists and a sack.

The club would like to congratulate James MacFadzean and Layke Rossiello who have been selected to play in the Australian Team in the IFAF World Cup in Austria in July.

The boys fly out on the 25th of June to the Australian Pre Camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in the ACT prior to going to Austria.

Congratulations to both players and good luck to them and the Australian “Outback” National team as they take on the world.

The Bay City Buccaneers would like to welcome Megan Barker as our team medic for the 2011 season.

The 2011 season will begin with the Round 1 VicBowl rematch between the Bay City Buccaneers and the Monash Wariors on Saturday May 7th at the Corio Community Reserve (click here for google map)

Kick off will be at 10:30am.

Gridiron Victoria Online Registration & Club Fees

Gridiron Victoria Registrations must be payed by Wednesday the 3rd of March and Club Fees must be payed prior to Wednesday the 23rd of March when we go into pads.

Please note that these are the final deadlines and we would appreciate players paying earlier.

Jersey Presentation & Rookie Talent Show

Jersey Presentation and Rookie Talent Show will be held on Saturday the 30th of April starting at 6:30pm, Hendy Hall in Hendy Street Corio. Rookie Talents must be a minimum of 3 minutes and can not have over 3 rookies per group. So start preparing now.

Recruiting for Season 2011
